Character sheets start with the facts — name, age, hair color, occupation. Those are labels. They tell you what a character looks like on a driver’s license. They don’t tell you who the character is when the lights go out and nobody’s watching.
Start with Section 7: Core Wound. Your character’s deepest hurt is the engine of your entire story. The wound isn’t what happened to them — it’s what they believe about themselves because of what happened. Once you nail that, their goals make sense, their flaws feel earned, and their arc has somewhere to go.
The template includes a recommended fill-in order that starts with the wound, builds the psychology, maps the arc, then fills in the facts. It’s faster than starting from Section 1 and produces a character who actually drives plot instead of just existing in it.
Plus 8 genre-specific addon sections you add based on your story.
When the template is filled in, you stop asking “what would my character do?” The answer is already in the sections you wrote.
Fifteen sections, eight genre addons, recommended fill-in order. Same template used inside professional fiction framework packages. Download it and start building.
